I need racks and the season starts in 2 months I don't have any extra money this time of the year so I want to build some. Was thinking Aluminum but I saw these on EBAY. Can someone here tell what this material might be? Can someone here tell me how to machine it?
Can someone here help me locate this stuff for purchase?
GRANT?
CHAS?
Bill?

Thanks for your time
ITCH

It looks like high density pollyurithane (sp). You can get it at a plastic supplier look in a phone book in your area.
Another thing you can do is take a cutting board you buy at walmart and cut out your own.

i tihnk even the cost of making them is going to be about 120-150 per rack.

You can find them for that price.

Double up racks go for about 300 shipped, we have those on our tower. Never have had a problem with them, look great.

The quality is okay! And I mean just okay! The material isn't as solid as metal of course, so you have a lot more bounce with the boards! The clamps are practically junk, they'll work for a month or two then with all the vibration and in/out with the boards, they usually crack. If I were you, take this design and take it to a metal shop. Or just buy some solid racks! It all depends on how much money you have. If you're broke, then these racks will work as long as you take extreme care of them.

Yes, Chris Anthony as in Epic Boats. He used WakeWorx to generate some cash to help fund his Epic Boat project. Which I think turned out pretty good if I don't say so myself. I think he sold WakeWorx last year to someone in Northern Cali. Probably let the domain expire and then some knuckle head bought it up. Chris is a real trooper, nothing bad to say about him other then the clamps on these racks!! Smile

wake
are the clamps made out of the plastic or are the aluminum?
I just need some thing to get us by and at 99 they seem to fit the bill.
Beside I like the idea of black racks on a black tower.

They are made out of the hard plastic. They are pre-drilled and screws are provided. If you screw them too tight, guess what happens. If you don't screw them tight enough, guess what spins in the wind. You just have to be very careful in tightning these things down. Start loose and if it's too loose, you can always tightnen. If you do get them, make sure you screw the screws in evenly as well. If one side is tighter then the other, it's almost a guarentee crack on the clamps. Maybe you can call or speak with whoever runs Wakeworx now and see if you can get an extra set of clamps. Double everything up and then I bet they last for quite some time. That would be cheaper and less painful then having to worry about the rack breaking while on the water.

i got the same racks off ebay.the racks seemed pretty sturdy but the clamps worried me too.on the plate of the rack there is a hole pre drilled for a self tapping screw (that is included) that screws into your tower to keep it from spinning around and so you dont strip out the clamps
