Okay, so last thursday I purchased my first iMac. Great computer, love the interface it's also very fast. Don't know much about it, but I'm learning.
I have 1 problem thats starting to piss me off highly. I find that it freezes ALOT, I'm not running multiple programs either. Any fixes or idea's?
Also I'm new so any app's you would recommend would be great also! |

Shouldn't be freezing(no new computer should be, really, not just a Mac). If it persists you should talk to apple about it, could be a bad part inside. _________________

What program are you running when it freezes? Video editing programs will freeze most computers very often! Although the new Final Cut Pro X or whatever it is called is awesome for the mac. |

chavez, I talked to them, and honestly they're clueless...mainly it was happening with video's not just video software, but it hasn't happened in about 2 months!

weatherford, did you install any other video codec software since (like Perian)?
I've never had video problems on the Macs, but I do have Perian installed on all of them. Although it looks like Perian is not going to have support any longer, so it may not work when Mtn Lion arrives... _________________

Not sure if this is your problem or not but I get this issue on my mac mini server when I have downloaded and installed updates without rebooting. I hate to reboot because I have so many things that run off my little server. After the reboot I never have an issue until the next update. Might be something to think about. |
