I was thinking about ways to prevent wakeboard damage from sliders, and I came up with an idea that might work.
you would take some puckboard or bathtub wall siding or something that would slide on pvc and wouldnt be rough on the water, and come up with a way to attach it to the bottom of the board.
Im not gona do it, at least not now, because i dont have any sliders or anything for it yet, but i have a sheet of cut bathtub wall siding that im using for a snowskate bench rail, and i put it up against my wakeboard to give you an idea of what i mean... _________________ <CBV>

Could be a good idea, but molding it to the shape of the board could be tricky and it would have a pretty high feel to it wouldn't it _________________

well, you just need to bend it to give it the shape of the rocker, and for the mini fins and the regular fins, you can just cut slits in the board. i jsut dont know how it would be kept on... _________________ <CBV>

I have a 143 parks and I've been using it for 3 years. Go to the cable park twice a month consistently riding for 6 hours each time. All I do there is hit kickers, sliders and flatboxes and although the underpart is seriously scratched that's all there is. believe me the underpart of your board is the least of your worries. What gets really damaged are the edges which I've had to repair a couple of times with fiberglass molds. But nothing major really.
Although I'm currently riding a 143 harris for about 6 months and its hardly holding up as well as the parks though. Hyperlite makes some seriously tough boards _________________ just ride |

If your worried about scratching up your prized board, guessing its a pro model, then look for a deal on some 05 team boards, you can pick one up for cheap $100 to $200 and then hit the rails all you want. |

dude, whats the big deal you could hit plenty or rails with that board.
if it gets some scratches, so what it wont hurt.
unless your trying to protect an autograph on the bottom or your board, who cares. |

I remember there was a o'brien board that has a slider bottom. just cant remember what exactly or if they still make it. But again the scratches under the board isnt going to wreck it, its the dings on the sides that will and even so that would take a loooong time _________________ just ride |

Nope, once you use it on a slider, the warranty is void. Well atleast in Hyperlite, i havent found out about other companies. _________________ Commit To It |

Ya I dont think you could make something like that by yourself. Mabey a company might come out with something like that in a couple years but that would be really tough to do and keep the ride of your board the way you want it but do what ever you want. Ya I am a little scared to hit rails and kickers because I am not sure how the bottom of my board will hold up. It is the 2005 byerly. I ride it finless but there are still all the moldings that I am not sure will hold up. If anyone knows let me know how they hold up on kickers and rails. _________________ Check out my wakeboarding video on my myspace!!! go to

I've been riding a blindside Billy McKee on sliders for 2 years, with 3 people using the same board continuously, so it's seen some abuse. It' held together really well, I've just had to epoxy the edges a few times. I just ordered a new one, and I'll be the only one using it, so it should hold up fo reven longer. _________________

I'm riding a three-stage now, but I still have my old continuous rocker board. I wouldn't be worried at all about it getting broken even, but I'm not sure if I could manage to hit the sliders, boxes, etc. with the continuous as well as I could the three-stage. Has anyone ever noticed a difference? _________________

i only use my 08 shane for cable so i took the fins off and put two layers of fiberglass down to stop it from damaging the board. works so well, i like a really slippery board so it doesnt bother me having no contour lines on the bottom of the board |
