I have recently started refinishing my gel-coat. 1st I washed boat w/ lime-a-way, then wet sanded w/1500grit wet-o-dry 3M paper. Then 3M marine rubbing compound w/ rotary buffer on wool pad, then 3M finesse it II, also w/ rotary buffer on foam pad. I have not waxed yet, but so far the new finish is not as shiny as the original, and reflections on the gel coat are not as clear kinda hazy. The color is much brighter though (yellow). Is this normal after refinishing? Will wax help? Any suggestion on type of wax and application procedure?
