depends what im riding behing but its usually about 20-24. and i ride finless but i sanded the edges on my integrity a little so it sits deeper.
just try riding with fins and then with out. also some smaller fins. its just a matter of trying everything to figure out what you personally like and dont like. _________________ www.wakeupfilms.com |

i ride a oak its all wood so it doesnt have any rockers and i took the fins off. i would say just take the fines off and get use to it i think in the long run you will be happy without them _________________ Ride or Die |

Have to disagree with skye120. I think as a newb, you should try to get the hang of it before you go finless. Your board will feel wobbly enough as a beginner so why not make it a bit easier at first. Eventually, without fins is the way to go. But crawl before you walk is my advice. _________________ After the bikini women's beachwear. |

yes but the way i look at it is if you get good with the fins and then take them off it might put you back at square one, where if you start without fins and get use to it then your not starting over later, but beachbum has a great point. i think what it breaks down to is if you wakeboard and are comfortable toe side and hillside carving then start with them off if you havnt ever wakeboarded then leave them on but thats just my 2 cents _________________ Ride or Die |

I learned with fins, and then started without them... it did set me back some...
If you can't ride the board at all, I would say start with the fins because it will make it much easier, but as soon as you get over being shaky navigating around on the water take those fins off.
With the fins off you have to really pop the board to throw your tricks properly and have good position to land your tricks.
I personally like no fins, but Arron REED and Danny Hampson rock one fin...... Hampson wrote a funny article on it a few years back....
try the different options out, but ultimately if you plan on hitting obstacles one day, it will be beneficial to learn without fins. _________________ Wakeskating and Wakeboarding are Lifestyles, not just hobbies!

fins give you much more control than no fins but they break easy on rails and such, one pro recommended that you learn rotational tricks without the fins but once you nail the trick put the fins on, they'll force you to ollie properly before initiating the trick _________________ ☆PHOENIX WINCH☆
